The IRIA instructor and ATO members test various equipment used in the performance of rescue tasks. In addition to meeting various regulatory standards (CSA, UL, USCG, ISO) equipment that is approved by the IRIA has been used for at least 100 days by more than one instructor in the course of their operational and training duties. The majority of instructors who have utilized the equipment must approve it in order to gain the IRIA approval.
